In this update, we’ll share some thoughts on the COVID trends, allergy season, AI-powered charting technology, and our clinical research.
Kayla Deshong, PA-C, NorCal & Washington Area Medical Director
As we head into fall, COVID cases may rise as they have in past winters. While variants with symptoms such as “razor blade throat” attributed to the most recent variant, "Stratus" make the headlines, our communal protection is improving thanks to prior infection immunity and vaccinations.
Since COVID symptoms can often appear as the Flu or a common cold, or even allergies, patients often hesitate to seek care, but a professional evaluation can help ensure it’s not something more serious or help speed up recovery.
Samantha Elich, PA-C, Massachusetts Area Medical Director
If it seems like allergy season is getting worse, you’re right! With climate change nearly 1 in 3 adults are expected to experience allergy symptoms, which can be vague. If your allergies aren’t under control, we can help! Our urgent care can ease flare-ups or rule out anything more serious if you are having sore throat, itchy irritated eyes, sinus congestion or even feeling drowsy throughout the day.

At Carbon Health, we’ve always built our own in-house health technology, from the EHR to the patient app and more, so the healthcare experience feels more seamless and integrated - not just for patients, but also our teams. One key example is hands-free AI charting, which lets our providers focus completely on their patient, not a screen.
