Meet Miah Denham, Center Manager of our Carlsbad, CA location. In this post, she shares a closer look at the clinic and what makes the Carlsbad community unique.
What types of patients do you see?
Here in Carlsbad, we see all different demographics of patients. We are very close to several senior living communities and with our quick in and out appointments, it is very accessible to those residents in case of skin tears or cold and flu symptoms. We are also very close to many schools like Aviara Oaks and La Costa Meadows. Our same day appointments and walk in options make it easy for school age kids to be seen quickly and not have to wait for their pediatrician to be available. During the summer, Carlsbad is a very popular place to visit and our beaches and great weather bring in lots of tourists for things like sting ray bites, injuries, and sick visits.
Where are you located?
The Carlsbad urgent care is located in the Plaza Paseo Real, diagonal to Vons on the lower level. On the corner of Aviara Parkway and El Camino Real. There is also plenty of free parking, including spots right in front of the clinic doors, and also some accessible parking spots to the left of our entrance.
What are the main cities or neighborhoods you serve?
Being so central to different parts of Carlsbad, we see patients from all over but to name a few, La Costa, Carlsbad Village, Bressi Ranch, Encinitas, and San Elijo.
What’s your favorite thing about working at this location?
I have been working here at the Carlsbad location for a little over a year and a half and my favorite part of working here is knowing we give quality care with the providers we have. Our providers are genuinely invested in each and every patient and their needs. We go above and beyond to make sure you feel at least a little bit better by the time you leave our office. Because of this we have now a long list of regular patients who prefer seeing us over their primary care office. Getting to know patients on a deeper level is something I value and I believe our clinic is best at.

Any tips for first-time patients?
For any first time patients I recommend downloading our Carby app! It makes scheduling easy, you can message with our staff, and check on lab results.
How is Carbon Health involved in the local community?
We are proudly part of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, we won Best Urgent Care Center in Carlsbad by popular vote, and we sponsor Rancho Carlsbad Golf Course. You will see us at most community events!

Any local ties?
A few of us grew up in this area, one of our providers has kids who attend school close by, and we love to see familiar faces and care for our neighbors.
