Meet Andrea Areyzaga, Center Manager of our Cerritos, CA location. In this post, she shares a closer look at the clinic and what makes the local community unique.
What types of patients do you see?
The Cerritos location serves a unique patient population, including families, working professionals, students, and seniors. We also see walk-in patients, travelers visiting So-Cal, and individuals with work-related injuries. With on-site X-ray services, we’re able to quickly evaluate and treat a wide range of conditions in one convenient visit 7 days a week!
Where are you located?
We are located at 13299 South St, right at the intersection of South St and Carmenita Rd in the heart of Cerritos. You’ll find us in the Cerritos Plaza South shopping center next to Dominos.
What are the main cities or neighborhoods you serve?
Our clinic proudly serves patients from across Southeast Los Angeles County and North Orange County, including Cerritos, Artesia, Norwalk, La Palma, Lakewood, Bellflower, Buena Park, and Cypress. We also see patients traveling from nearby communities like Downey, Whittier, and Long Beach. Conveniently located near the 605 Freeway, our clinic is an easy stop for commuters and families on the go. We’re also just minutes from popular destinations like the Cerritos Auto Square, often referred to as the “Auto Square of the World”, making us a well-known and accessible option for care in the area.
What’s your favorite thing about working at this location?
My favorite part of working at our Cerritos location is the incredible team and the strong sense of community we’ve built together. We collaborate closely to create a welcoming, supportive environment for every patient. Being able to offer convenient services like on-site X-ray and same-day care allows us to make a meaningful impact when our patients need it most.
Any tips for first-time patients?
For first-time patients, we recommend arriving a few minutes early to allow time for check-in. Our clinic is located in a busy shopping center but with convenient parking available on-site. Please note that the parking lot can occasionally be busy due to nearby gym patrons, so we suggest allowing a little extra time to find a spot during peak hours.
How is Carbon Health involved in the local community?
We are actively engaged in the local community through partnerships with organizations such as the Cerritos Chamber of Commerce, as well as ongoing collaboration with nearby schools to support students in completing their sports and camp physicals. We also participate in and volunteer at various health expos sponsored by the City of Cerritos, helping promote access to care and wellness education for residents. In addition, we support local businesses with occupational health services, including DOT physicals, drug screenings, and other workforce health requirements, helping employers keep their teams safe and compliant. We also work closely with Cerritos College students, assisting with required TB testing and program-related health screenings to support their educational and clinical training needs.
Any local ties?
Many of our team members are local to the Cerritos area and take pride in serving the same community they live in and are familiar with. That local connection helps us better understand and care for our patients in a more personal and relatable way. As a team, we also enjoy supporting nearby small businesses, one of our favorite go-to spots for team lunches is Manila Sunset in the plaza, and we often treat ourselves to something sweet from Tous les Jours. These local favorites have become part of our routine and reflect the strong community feel around our clinic.
